Ursula’s trial experience includes disputes as to testamentary capacity, suspicious circumstances surrounding the making of wills, passing over executors, trust claims, family provision claims (including contested extension of time applications), the making of court authorised wills, informal will applications, executor’s commission applications, removal of executors, estate accounting, construction of wills, cy-pres applications, application of the forfeiture rule, professional negligence claims in relation to wills and deceased estates, and acting on behalf of the Legal Services Commissioner in disciplinary proceedings involving the administration of deceased estates and executor’s commission.
Ursula is a nationally accredited mediator and a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She is named as Preeminent Wills & Estates Litigation Barrister–Victoria and Leading Wills & Estates Litigation Barrister-Australia in Doyle’s Guide 2018. She has also been named in Doyle’s Guide in 2017, 2016 and 2015.
Ursula has presented numerous papers to various groups on topics related to succession law and has written papers published in the Wills and Probate Bulletin. Prior to coming to the Bar, Ursula completed articles at the Crown Solicitor’s Office, worked at both the Magistrates’ Court and the Family Court and was employed as a commercial/civil litigation solicitor for six years.
