 ABOUT THE WEBINAR
Electronic contracts are quickly becoming the norm in the property sector. However, while they come with a number of benefits, they can also create significant risks. This session will explore the tricky world of the formation of electronic contracts in property law, including:

  • What is an electronic contract?

  • The nature of informal or implied contracts

  • How to determine whether an electronic contract is binding or nonbinding

  • The role other electronic communications, such as emails between parties, play in determining the formation and terms of the contract

  • What evidence is admissible to prove the existence of a formal binding contract?

  • The role of equity in contract formation

  • Recent case update

Claire Martin, Sole Practitioner, Sydney

Claire studied law through LPAB whilst working full time in areas of Conveyancing, Commercial Law and Family Law. Claire was admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia. In 2016 she was awarded her Masters in Applied Law - majoring in Property Law. As a Sole Practitioner, from 1 July 2019 Claire will be offering bespoke personal legal services to private clients in Property Law, Estate Planning and Administration, Commercial Law and Family Law.
