Paul had been a partner of one of Australia's large national law firms for over 30 years before retiring from the partnership and establishing the Brisbane office of Fox and Thomas in February 2007 which changed its name to Paxton-Hall Lawyers in April 2013.

Paul has worked in the commercial, property, finance and tax areas of the law all his career.  His focus now remains in the company and commercial areas but also he has a passionate commitment to the not-for-profit sector and to estate planning work.

Paul is a director of Arbonne Charitable Foundation, a board member of QELi, a member of the Law Society's Not-for-Profit Committee and Revenue Law Committee, a Fellow of Chartered Secretaries Australia and a member of the Society of Tax & Estate Planning Lawyers and the Taxation Institute of Australia.
